ABOUT
Red River Health is about you.
Your health and wellness are at the heart of what inspire us.
This is our story.
ORIGIN
Red River Health was created in Fargo in 2001. At that time, there were very few practitioners of Chinese medicine in the area. For many people, medicine through the use of acupuncture, herbs, nutritional modification and exercise was fairly foreign. This kind of medicine remains mysterious for some and doubtful for others.
However, the essence of Chinese medicine as it is practiced at Red River Health is thousands of years old. At our clinic we strive to honor the wisdom of inspired, ancient, observations in health and healing. We practice integrating the knowledge accumulated over centuries with information acquired today in western science and medicine. Red River Health is bridging those gaps, shaving off what is unnecessary in both systems, and inspiring a new, integrated method of healing and wellness.
BIO
Robert began his study under Dr. Angela Wu when he was an undergraduate student at San Francisco State University. While apprenticing with Dr. Wu at her San Francisco clinic, Robert earned a bachelors degree in Cultural Anthropology. At the same time Robert was completing seven years of study in an Aikido teacher training program. Robert went on to earn a masters degree at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College of Berkeley, CA. In 2001 Robert moved to Moorhead with his wife Michelle, and their first young son Anthony. Michelle took a teaching position at Concordia College and Robert opened Red River Health soon after their arrival. He has been developing his practice and his school of Aikido ever since. He and Michelle had another son Giulio in 2003. Together they have been deeply engaged in the life of their boys, and active participants in the community.
Robert has been in the field of Eastern medicine since 1997. Unlike chiropractors, physical therapists, or western trained medical doctors, Robert has extensive, specialized training in Chinese medical physiology, pathology, diagnosis and treatment. This knowledge and experience lies at the core of his method of healing. Acupuncture, moxabustion, cupping, Chinese herbal therapy and various massage techniques were the essence of his master’s degree training. These varied modalities bring depth to the administration of care. After two decades of experience Robert has treated all kinds of disorders. He has supported the journey towards wellness for thousands of residents in our area and beyond.
